Mexican federal officers Arturo Carmona and Héctor Rosales are working an ordinary highway patrol shift in Sinaloa when they stop a suspicious vehicle. They soon discover that the man they have detained is Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, one of the country’s most wanted criminals. Suddenly caught between their duty, corruption, and the enormous danger surrounding the cartel leader, the two officers must decide what to do while trying to survive the consequences of their unexpected arrest. The film is inspired by the real events surrounding Guzmán’s 2016 recapture.
